I worked for months, working 12- hour days sanding floors and tear down wallpaper one baby strapped to my back, and others crawling inside the playpen. Ha! The home was starting to look nice, but there were still many things that needed to be left. It would take money, effort, as well as my personal favorite to complete the interior of this house. To stay within my budget, I took my boys with me to look for treasures in estate sales. Each week we would spend between Thursday and Saturday in garage sales and estate sales, buying old and new furniture. Then I repainted and smoothed in the driveway in the week. My first impression was similar to... This is the moment my love for restoring furniture was born. I kept on restoring furniture long after we furnished our house. There was a market in the area for me to sell pieces. I was able to outgrow the market because I had numerous pieces I was able to use. More than 1000 people came to my home in just one weekend to purchase all the things on the ground. Growing Days was created in the home. My business was not only thriving but I was growing our family of four. Being a new mom I was able to strike the right equilibrium to start my own business and also be a good mother. Growing Days just fit. Nora my fourth child was born in 2013. My business's direction was excellent, however I was forced to take some time off. I took a break from furniture that was vintage to enjoy the time I needed with my kids. That was exactly what i required. After a few minutes, my phone began getting busy. There were calls from people asking me for help with decorating their homes and interiors. These people had mostly visited my house at the open houses for furniture. After a while I began to take on customers in my own way. In no time, I was managing multiple accounts, as well as a house renovations company. Most likely, I'd have laughed had I had been told that the venture was going to be the basis for an upcoming television show in the DIY Network. It's true that I smile when I think about the idea.
