Emily Irene VanCamp, a Canadian actor and actress, is famous for her roles as the main character in a variety of television shows as well as for her strong performances in movies. Her popularity is shared by the world of Canadian as well as American television. Emily's interest in acting began when, at age 12 she was visiting the sister of Katie who was filming one of Katie's films. When Emily realized her love for acting, she began taking classes in acting and auditions. She was initially cast in commercials for a few minutes before receiving a callback for the Canadian children's horror television show Are You Fearful of Darkness? In one scene, she appeared without speaking a word. At the age 15, she made her breakthrough as she was an actor on the WB series Glory Days. Emily's acting skills caught the attention from Dawson's creek's Greg Berlanti, who then invited her to his TV show Everwood. Emily is also a dancer, a photographer and was named as one of the top 20 teens' actresses. The Maxim's Hot 100 for 2014 listed her at number 51.
